When I’m in need of a quick, healthy, and flavorful meal, these fish patties are my go-to. With only three main ingredients and a few spices, they’re easy to make and incredibly versatile. Perfect with a side salad, as an appetizer, or as the main dish. The homemade yogurt dip adds a fresh, creamy touch!
Ingredients for Fish Patties:
4-6 fish fillets or any fish on hand
1/2 to 1 cup sprouted oat flour (or your favorite flour)
2 eggs
Spices:
Salt, black pepper, and thyme powder (to taste)
Yogurt Dip (Optional):
1 cup plain yogurt
10 cashews, finely chopped
1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, finely chopped
2 teaspoons lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
I start by seasoning the raw fish with salt, pepper, and thyme.
Then, I cook it with just enough water to cover the fillets. Once the water boils, I let the fish simmer for 5–10 minutes, depending on the thickness. Afterward, I remove it from the heat, allow it to cool slightly, and separate the flesh from any bones or skin.
I transfer the cooked fish to a bowl and mash it well until it’s smooth.
I add the eggs and mix thoroughly.
Next, I blend in the oat flour (or any preferred flour) using a fork or my hands to ensure an even mixture.
I shape the patties by hand, heat a little oil in a pan over low-medium heat, and cook them until golden on both sides. I prefer avocado oil, but any healthy oil works.
Yogurt Dip:While the patties cook, I mix the yogurt with cashews, cilantro, lemon juice, and a dash of salt and pepper for a perfect side dip.

My Notes:
If the fish mixture feels too loose, I add an extra tablespoon or two of oat flour.
I adjust salt and pepper to taste once the mix is ready.
Sometimes, I use canned fish to skip the cooking step. You can also swap fish for chicken if you like.
Feel free to try other spices to make it your own.
I hope you enjoy these delicious fish patties as much as I do!
